In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, we celebrated by reading his books and participating in play activities centered around our favorites.
Fox in Socks
Oh my! What a tongue twister!
There's lots of crazy rhyming going on in this book.
Socks' shapes (say that ten times!) were the destination for a variety of collage materials- pom poms, buttons, jewels (a favorite around here) and colored pasta in all shapes and sizes. Use of collage materials is great for motor skills, eye hand coordination (as is squeezing the glue!), open ended creativity and sparks opportunities for new vocabulary and language growth.
