Last, but not least, we got to eat them!
Fishing is quite often on the agenda when one goes camping, so we went fishing for letters of the alphabet. We caught plenty and thought of words that started with the letters on the fish we caught.
We sang, "Have You Ever Been a Fishin'?"
We had to watch out for bears on our camping trip. They like to get into food that's not locked up. We acted out "Goin' on a Bear Hunt" where we maneuvered through mud and tall grass, swam through a lake, climbed up a mountain and back down again, and went into a dark, dark cave where we came face to face with a bear!
We played a game called "Grizzly Bear".
Grizzly bear, oh grizzly bear is sleeping in his cave.
Please be very quiet. Shhhhh!
Very very quiet. Shhhh!
If you wake him, if you shake him,
He'll get very mad.
As we sang, we snuck up on the sleeping bear, woke him up and ran for our lives!
We played over and over and over again, because we absolutely loved this game.
A camping trip wouldn't be the same without certain foods. We took along hot dogs- we actually used mustard and catsup containers to drizzle glue paint onto hot dog shapes and then sprinkle relish over the top.
We also had watermelon- we sponge painted red onto watermelon shapes and then used our fingertips dipped in black paint to add seeds.
We also had the real things for lunch one day. And then, for snack, we made s'mores.
The perfect combination of ooey, gooey, sticky!
