We had a "Leapfroggin’ game to play. We had to roll the dice to jump our frogs to the pond.
Gonk, gonk went the little Mr. Froggy
Gonk. gonk went the Mrs. Froggy, too.
Gonk, gonk went they both together.
And their eyes went, Woo, woo, woo!
So they kissed each other (kiss, kiss) (Make kissing sounds)
Just like little froggies do
Then she said, “Good-bye”.
And he said, “Oh my!”
Gonk, gonk. (kiss, kiss),
I’m comin’ too!
We not only sang this song, we acted it out-
The slide was our log and we were the frogs...
Five Green and speckled frogs,
Sitting on a hollow log,
Eating some most delicious bugs,
Yum, Yum.
One frog jumped in the pool,
Where it was nice and cool,
Now there are only four
speckled frogs,
Glub, glub.
Four Green and speckled frogs...
Three...Two...One...
Frogs have long and sticky tongues to catch flying bugs. We used party blowers for our “frog tongues”. We had all kinds of bugs to catch, but we didn’t really eat them!
Lily pads were set up around the room so that we could jump like frogs.
Our sensory tub was filled with frogs and logs for us to play with.
Using bingo markers in a variety of colors, we made speckled frogs of our own.
Favorite books of the week were: The Croaky Pokey by Ethan Long,The Wide-Mouthed Frog by Keith Faulkner and Jump Frog, Frog Jump! by Robert Kalan.
