The Littlest Christmas Tree

Our story with charming illustrations of little forest animals had us feeling empathy for the "littlest tree" in the tree lot. We were so happy at the end of the story when it found a home and became an official "Christmas Tree". 

We had a great time decorating and redecorating our "little tree" in our dramatic play center. 

We sang "The Littlest Christmas Tree's" favorite song, "O' Christmas Tree" and talked about what the song was about. We used evergreen branches of pine, fir and spruce as brushes for painting. We dipped them in paint and then brushed them onto the paper. The process was fun, the products were art-museum worthy!
