Bubbleology

Bubbles, bubbles, everywhere!

We had bubbles inside...

We even walked on bubbles!

We had lots of bubbles and all kinds of bubble blowers outside...

A fun story about taking a bath...

had us all playing in a "tub" filled with bubbles.
In the words of Shel Silverstein-

"There are too many kids in this tub
There are too many elbows to scrub
I just washed a behind that I'm sure wasn't mine
There are too many kids in this tub."
We used a hula hoop to make bubbles around each of us.

Balloons are kind of like bubbles. They're filled with air just like bubbles, only they last a bit longer.
We sang a song about balloons:

5 balloons floating in the air,
Floating in the air, without a care.
Along came a boy, going to the store.
POP!
Then there were 4.
balloons floating in the air,
Floating in the air, without a care.
Along came a fish swimming out to sea,
POP!
Then there were 3.
balloons floating in the air,
Floating in the air, without a care.
Along came a monkey going to the zoo,
POP!
Then there were 2.
balloons floating in the air,
Floating in the air, without a care.
Out came the sun, shining just for fun,
POP!
POP!
Then there were none.

Next, we each chose a balloon to blow up and play with. Balloons are great for throwing and catching practice.

After reading The Bubble Factory,

we set up a bubble lab where we experimented, created and tested our bubbles over and over again.

Our bubble experimentation and discoveries continued.

We turned bubble blowing into art by dribbling water colors over the top of our bubbles and printing them.

The process was so much fun but we also had some great product!
Can you hear the giggles of delight?
Bubbles are a definite favorite!
